Maine Sea Kayak guide certification.
Requirements:​

Successfully complete your Maine Guide certification with a sea kayaking endorsement​.

Complete the Maine Tourism Customer Service Communication course (free online, asynchronous course, takes approximately 1 hour to complete).

Work for at least 10 days with a Maine sea kayaking outfitter.

1 / What does this program reimburse?
The program reimburses $125 for the cost of the sea kayaking certification through Maine Inland Fisheries and Wildlife, $55 for the fingerprinting fee, and $135 for the 5-year guide license once you pass your exam, for a total of $315.
2 / How do I become a Registered Maine Guide?
3 / Can I still be reimbursed if I fail the exam?
No, you must pass the exam to qualify for the program.
4 / Can I test in multiple classification areas?
Yes, but this program will only cover the cost of the sea kayaking certification. For example, if you choose to test in Recreational and Sea Kayaking, you will be responsible for $125 of the $250 fee.
5 / Once I apply, what happens next?
Once we've received all of your documentation, we will confirm your license with Maine DIFW, confirm you've completed our online training course, and verify your work days with your employer. After this verification is complete, we will mail your reimbursement check to the address provided with your reimbursement application. Your check should be mailed within 1-3 weeks after we receive your documentation.
6 / Can I use this program to renew an existing license?
No, this program is for first-time applicants only.
