Why consider an office career in tourism?

Tourism businesses are, of course, businesses, and like any business, they need great analytical, organizational, and marketing-minded people to run their operations. Office careers in tourism include accounting, human resources, marketing, sales, advertising, technology building and maintenance (websites, ads, social media content), data analytics, researching, and government liaising... to name a few.

These positions are vital to all areas of tourism, however, they are also not characterized as entry-level positions. They require experience and a portfolio of skills that come with time and training. Most people in these roles began in tourism with entry-level positions in the industry and then use the knowledge they gained from their college degree OR choose a college degree that will be usable within the field. Many tourism and Hospitality office workers are able to shift from one business to another through their skills, enabling them to typically have year-round positions in a often seasonal industry.

These are great positions to bring your tourism experience and advanced training and knowledge together!
