What types of activities will the intern do:

Come aboard the Schooner American Eagle and experience the magic of sailing around Penobscot Bay on the National Landmark. For 3-6 days, you'll work with the deck and galley crew as they complete the variety of tasks that get done on a windjammer. Learn the ins and outs of windjammer work: hauling on sails, chopping vegetables, working with guests, and helping the crew. Experience traditional sailing, delicious meals made on a wood-burning stove, wildlife, open skies, and learning about this uniquely Maine industry.

This is a very active internship and will push your boundaries in amazing ways. Be prepared to get up early, work hard, handle food, sails, and lines (ropes), wash dishes, talk to guests, and have an incredible adventure sailing around Penobscot Bay.
