What types of activities will the intern do: The Eastern Trail Alliance seeks applications for up to three internship position during the summer of 2024. This internship will provide extensive hands on experience working with a nonprofit organization. ETA's mission is to build, maintain, and promote the Eastern Trail. Since the early 2000s, the ETA, together with the ETMD, has build over 22 miles of off-road, multi-use trail, for walking and cycling in southern Maine. Our vision is a contiguous, off-road multi-modal trail from South Portland to Kittery. This summer, we are seeking one marketing intern to report to our executive director and develop a library of high-quality photos, graphics, and infographics that tell our story and highlight the beauty of the Eastern Trail and two trail stewardship interns that will report to and assist our trail manager in land management tasks such as trail upkeeping, trail maintenance, and other trail-related activities.
All interns will benefit from working in a small nonprofit environment in which everyone's work has immediate impact and opportunities to learn something new are endless. Both of these positions will involve spending time on the trail to varying degrees. Neither of these positions will require interns to work from our Biddeford office. Interns should expect to work from the trail or in the case of the marketing intern from a personal computer/camera. Start and end dates of internship are negotiable, hoping for roughly a seven week commitment with the opportunity for more.
