What types of activites will the intern do: This is a great opportunity for a midcoast local to use their skills in carpentry, plumbing, electricity, and even diesel engine knowledge and learn how these skills apply to the world of traditional wooden vessels. We'll do everything from sanding/painting/varnishing to dealing with lines (ropes) and blocks (pulleys) and bending on sails and spars. If you have the know-how, or the desire to know how, you may work on the yawl boat engine, run new plumbing or improve our battery system. Our vessel is over 150 years old, and as a National Historic Landmark, the maintenance work we do keeps her sailing. Join us after your school day, during your spring break, or even on the weekend. We'll be here, making her shine.
When is it available: March, April, May, October, November
